GEOFF: I started my musical journey in Birmingham England in 1962 in a band called The Castaways! In 1964 it morphed into THE KING BEES a blues band which became well known on the club circuit around the UK. We recorded our first single in 1964 a cover of The Exciters’ song ‘A Little Bit of Soap’ and the same year Carl Palmer (who went on to join Emerson, Lake and Palmer) joined and we recorded the single “I Must Be Mad’. My first song released as a single. It has since become a collectible freakbeat classic! In 1970 I formed the progressive rock band GALLIARD with a brass section and wrote and recorded two albums with that band which are still available today. We toured Europe with that band and were popular on the University and College circuit. Psychedelic rock! In 1972 Galliard disbanded and I went on to form the band MUSCLES and recorded several of my songs with them as singles. A funk/rock/disco band and I switched over to keyboards as it was very synthesizer based. When that band split up I gave up professional music to start a videogame company, US Gold, and I didn’t really touch any instruments again until I sold that company and moved to Santa Monica, California, in 2004. It was there I wrote and recorded California Xmas and took an interest in the banjo and bluegrass and recorded a few bluegrass singles with local guys.
I moved to Guanajuato in 2014 and Gaby and I formed 3 COOL CATS! with Armando on percussion. We play locally now with Laloc and have built up our own following. What fun we all have!. In 2019 I went into the studio again in Leon with some great local musicians to write and record OUR WORLD, a song dedicated to the planet. During the Covid lockdown I recorded a video each week (33 in all!) including some original songs and featured local musicians and dancers who I raised money for as the whole entertainment scene was closed. The financial support I had for the local artists was phenomenal and I want to say thank you here to all of the supporters.
Well here we are in 2022 and I am still writing new songs that I will perform today. I hope you enjoy this very eclectic selection from my songbook and a couple of rock classics from other artists..

En 1964 se transformó en THE KING BEES, una banda de blues que se hizo muy conocida en el circuito de clubes de todo el Reino Unido. Grabamos nuestro primer sencillo en 1964, una versión de la canción de The Exciters 'A Little Bit of Soap' y el mismo año se unió Carl Palmer (que se unió a Emerson, Lake and Palmer) y grabamos el sencillo "I Must Be Mad '. Mi primera canción lanzada como single. ¡Desde entonces se ha convertido en un clásico freakbeat coleccionable!. En 1970 formé la banda de rock progresivo GALLIARD con una sección de laton y escribí y grabé dos álbumes con esa banda que todavía están disponibles hoy. Hicimos una gira por Europa con esa banda y éramos populares en el circuito universitario. ¡Rock psicodélico!. En 1972 Galliard se disolvió y pasé a formar la banda MUSCLES y grabé varias de mis canciones con ellos como sencillos. Una banda de funk/rock/disco y cambié a los teclados ya que estaba muy basado en sintetizadores. Cuando esa banda se separó, dejé la música profesional para comenzar una compañía de videojuegos, US Gold, y realmente no volví a tocar ningún instrumento hasta que vendí esa compañía y me mudé a Santa Mónica, California, en 2004. Fue allí donde escribí y grabé California Xmas y se interesó por el banjo y el bluegrass y grabó algunos sencillos de bluegrass con chicos locales.
Me mudé a Guanajuato en 2014 y Gaby y yo formamos 3 COOL CATS! con Armando en la percusión. Ahora tocamos localmente con Laloc y hemos creado nuestros propios seguidores. ¡Qué divertido nos lo pasamos todos!. En 2019 volví al estudio en León con algunos grandes músicos locales para escribir y grabar ‘OUR WORLD’, una canción dedicada al planeta. Durante el encierro de Covid, grabé un video cada semana (¡33 en total!) que incluía algunas canciones originales y presentaba a músicos y bailarines locales para quienes recaudé dinero mientras la escena del entretenimiento estaba cerrada. El apoyo financiero que tuve para los artistas locales fue fenomenal y quiero agradecer aquí a todos los que me apoyaron. Bueno, aquí estamos en 2022 y todavía estoy escribiendo nuevas canciones que interpretaré hoy… Espero que disfruten de esta selección muy ecléctica de mi cancionero y dos rock classicos.
